We can only see a short distance ahead, but we can see plenty there that needs to be done. 1

2023

For 2023 my main aim is to build up Rust proficiency - to feel-out what it takes to actually maneuver with it fluently in a variety of contexts.

I've "learned" Rust at the end of 2022, but quickly realized there's a significant gap between conceptual grokking of its model of the world and actual keen awareness of how it changes everything I've come to take for granted in the garbage-collected Zen garden of functional languages.

For the first time in years I found myself unable to write code I'm not embarrassed of and it's both upsetting and intriguing - it must be fixed!
